Workshop Description

Recommended age: Age 7 and above. All our workshops begin with a safety briefing. (Even for returning students) Read more about our safety standards here. Day 1 - Airplant Zen garden Design and create your own mini zen garden! During this workshop, you will first build a wooden garden tray. Next learn about air plants and choose 2 of your favourite. Finally assemble and decorate your very own zen garden. Day 2 - Busy bot wooden fidget cube + Tool Caddy 2 project day for the second day of camp! Part 1: The wooden fidget cube is a playful wooden toy provides a convenient and simple way to occupy your hands and other senses. Students will be provided a wood cube and fun miscellaneous hardware for this project. The goal is for students to explore the integration of different materials with wood! The open-ended nature of the workshop tests creativity, drives imagination, and imparts new skills. Part 2: Tool caddy is a functional woodworking piece. We take a break from the creative and use our spatial awareness to think about how 3D objects come together. Building like a 3D puzzle, kids will use tools to build the tool caddy on their own! Day 3 - Wooden toy camera Creative thinking is the ability to come up with unique, original solutions. In this workshop, design and make your own version of a camera using various types of wood and interesting wooden parts! Finally, add a finishing touch using wood oil or beeswax. Additional details: - Take a short break if you need its, pack snacks! - Attire: Please wear closed toe shoes to the venue. - Attire: Comfortable, No loose or flowy clothing. - No use of power tools for the safety of the children. - All personal PPE (personal protective equipment) will be provided. - Drop us a message with any questions! Woodworking is a wonderful way to develop character. The smell and feel of wood, using real tools, working with a natural material, the sounds of hammering and sawing, hands and minds working together to express their imagination and to solve problems, the use of strength and coordination: all go together to captivate young children’s interest. Wood working activities for children and kids of all ages. There are also wood working workshops for teens and young adults.
