Workshop Description
For ages 10 and up Workshop duration: 6 hours Lunch break is provided (+1 hour) Special workshop collab price: $290.70 (U.P. $342) Check out with the promo code: MARAPR2023 All our workshops begin with a safety briefing. (Even for returning students) What to expect: A collaboration with Whyte Labs. Students progress through a two-part workshop, first programming: demystifying robotics and science, learning the basics of circuits, sensors, and coding with Arduino. Then woodworking: learning how to use hand tools, and light electric tools while experiencing the importance of woodwork in early childhood education – building confidence and providing a foundation for lifelong learning. At the end of the workshop, your child will bring home a wooden coinbox that lights up when they save money! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - *Important* Please prepare the following softwares on your laptop/computer: 1) Install the Arduino IDE on your computer https://www.arduino.cc/en/software 2) Create a free, Personal Account on the TinkerCAD website https://www.tinkercad.com/ 3) For Windows users: Download and install the CH341 driver for the Arduino board https://www.dropbox.com/s/msp8drcle90vjep/CH341SER.EXE?dl=0 3) For Mac users For Macs with USB-C, please make sure you have a USB-A adaptor, to allow you to plug in the Arduino cable Feel free to let us know if you have any difficulties! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What will I learn: - Safety in the workshop, safety goggles provided - How to use different hand tools - Sanding technique and simple joining methods - Workshop includes an Arduino Kit worth $50 Additional details: - A 1 hour lunch break and short tea break is provided. - Attire: Please wear closed-toe shoes to the venue.
