Workshop Description

Recommended age: 7 and above, children 4-6 are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult. All our workshops begin with a safety briefing. Workshop duration: 3 hours This workshop introduces children to hand tools, light electric tools and working with wood. An experienced facilitator will be conducting the workshop, teaching wood processing and joining methods, how to use the tools and the importance of workshop safety. This two-project day is a perfect introduction to functional woodworking! This workshop involves a lot of hands-on tinkering and thinking about how 3D objects come together. Spatial awareness stimulates important areas of the brain that deal with memory and cognitive function. Participants then build their objects and finish off with sanding and personalising their pieces. What will I learn: - Workshop safety and behaviours - Using light hand tools (child appropriate) - Wood processing methods: sawing, sanding, etc - Simple wood joining methods __________________ AddRecommended age: 7 and above, children 4-6 are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult.
