Workshop Description
A woodworking workshop for a beautiful, functional lamp. Recommended age: 8 and above, children 4-7 are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult. All our workshops begin with a safety briefing. Workshop duration: 4 hours What to expect: During this workshop, learn simple circuitry and the basics of woodworking. The workshop typically includes tools such as saws, drills, as well as raw materials such as copper sheeting and wiring. Participants will design and make their own lamps under the guidance of an instructor, learning woodworking steps and the process of shaping the copper to create a functional and decorative lighting piece. The workshop environment can be described as creative and hands-on, with an emphasis on learning new skills and creating a unique, personal piece of art. Woodworking is a wonderful way to develop character. The smell and feel of wood, using real tools, working with a natural material, the sounds of hammering and sawing, hands and minds working together to express their imagination and to solve problems, the use of strength and coordination: all go together to captivate young children’s interest.
