Workshop Description
Recommended age: 4 - 12 years+ All our workshops begin with a safety briefing. (Even for returning students) What to expect: A perfect introduction to woodworking, this workshop for children is a version of Montessori building blocks. Building blocks are considered the most classic of childhood toys. It is such a successful toy because it allows for self-directed activity, hands-on learning, and collaborative play. During this 1 hour workshop, participants will design and make their own creature keychain! The open-ended nature of the sessions allows children to explore their own assumptions, make mistakes and harness their own problem-solving skills. What will I learn: Building blocks improve a child's spatial reasoning skills. During play, children explore how the blocks will fit together to create their design, how they might use the different blocks to represent a part of their toy and develop their motor-skills and coordination. - Safety in the workshop - How to use different hand tools and light electric tools Additional details: - Attire: Please wear closed toe shoes to the venue.
